Marina Gostraya - Contemporary Artist
Art is a reflection of the unknowns within myself.
As an abstract artist originally from Russia and now based in Los Angeles, my art has been a reflection of my journey and exploration in two different cultures. Ultimately, I have found a way to use my painting as a vessel for the universe to flow through me, in whatever form that may take. I have been inspired by the remarkable works of Hilma af Klimt, which has helped me create a connection between the physical and metaphysical realms through my art.
My body of work, titled "Paintings from the Future," explores the wonders of the imagination as a means to bring forth visions of worlds yet to be discovered. I use abstract forms, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns to depict an otherworldly aesthetic that exists beyond our current reality. Each piece is a glimpse into the possibilities awaiting us in the future.
Through my work, I seek to evoke a sense of wonder, curiosity, and contemplation. By embracing the unknown and pushing the boundaries of conventional art, I strive to encourage others to explore their own spirituality and tap into the limitless potential that lies within us all. Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to create a visual language that transcends the limitations of words and invokes the audience to embark on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.
I believe that art has the power to awaken the dormant aspects of our consciousness and provide a source of inspiration, enlightenment and deeper fulfillment. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in the enigmatic and captivating world of "Paintings from the Future" and embrace the infinite possibilities that await us.
My journey as an artist has been one that has had no destination other than to explore what is possible from within. I've taken many different forms and expressions and am constantly looking to improve and learn new skills, but most importantly just create. I hope that I can continue to push my boundaries and produce new inspiring pieces that find a home in those that resonate with my work. Making art for people is such a pleasure because I get to give them a part of myself that will hopefully last and inspire them for years to come.
I see myself always as a blank canvas, the moment will always bring me back after creating a piece to this same consistent space; emptiness. I love the journey of that; from something to nothing. The circle of life.
